There was a wonderfully relaxed feel at Cambrian Lodge as residents came together for our Knitting Club, spending the session creating knitted squares for our blanket while enjoying a friendly natter.
Gathered in comfortable armchairs around a small table, residents worked with colourful balls of wool close to hand, sharing conversation as their needles clicked away. It was lovely to see everyone so settled and engaged, some concentrating carefully on their stitches, others swapping comments and smiles as they went.
In the photos from the session, you can see residents sitting together with the wool spread out on the table, creating a warm and sociable little hub. In one image, three residents knit side by side; in another, four residents are gathered around the table, smiling and clearly enjoying both the craft and the company.
Activities like Knitting Club support wellbeing in simple but meaningful ways. Knitting can be calming and satisfying, and working on a shared project encourages connection, conversation and a sense of purpose. Each square added brings us one step closer to completing the blanket, a collective achievement that residents can feel proud to be part of.
